With this new year comes a monumental event in the lives of Brad and Lucie. Here is a summary of their lives thus far.
1978 – Lucie Vavrova enteres the world.
1980 – Bradley Adam Kaspar is born.
1985 – Lucie begins an illustrious education as a 1st grader. Brad starts home-school with an amazing teacher that he continues with for the next 7 years: Mom
1986-9 – Lucie goes international as a competitive chess-player, winning awards abroad.
1992 – Brad begins public school and wins 2nd place in his school’s spelling bee, missing first place by one word – zucchini
1993 – Lucie starts high school, falls in love with reading and writing (thanks to a great teacher, Mrs. Trbuskova) and wins prizes in local writing competitions.
1997 – Lucie finishes high school and begins studies in marketing and management. For the first time she meets Christians.
1998 – Brad gets elected homecoming king and graduates from high school. Lucie becomes a Christian. Brad commits to living fully for God.
1999 – Brad and Lucie realize their callings to youth work, as a summer camp counselor in Wisconsin and nanny in England respectively.
2000 – Brad travels to Czech for the first time and wants to come back.
2002 – Lucie starts studies at a Christian college in Olomouc (her city of birth).
2003 – Brad lives in Czech for half a year with Mark Krupa in Pardubice.
2005 – Brad moves to live in Czech and meets Lucie as soon as he gets off the plane. Lucie figures Brad is just another American guy with his tennis racket and guitar that won’t stick around for long. Brad thinks Lucie is just out of high school, though cute and very friendly.
2006 – Lucie further connects with JV by doing a youth leader internship and becoming assistant to Dave Patty, JV’s director.
2007 – Brad gets struck by a bolt of lightning from heaven, asks Lucie if she’ll start dating him. She says yes.
2008 – Brad and Lucie get married on Valentines Day.
2009 – Brad and Lucie unveil their new website!!!
